Anabolic Steroids

The use of illegal drugs often begins with using medically legal drugs (prescription medication) in an illegal manner. When you have a prescription for medication, and you give it or sell it to someone else, you are using them illegally.

If you have prescription to a medication that you really don't need for health reasons, but you got it somehow from a doctor, or from a pharmacy, you are using it in an illegal manner. Taking medication that you have no real medical need for whether its sold over the counter or by prescription only is drug abuse.

One of the more popular drugs to abuse is Anabolic Steroids. They have the power to help athletic performance, increase muscle mass and strength, and increase the energy level of anyone who uses them. That can be quite a temptation for athletes and anyone else who wants to look good and feel great while working out.

Anabolic steroids have a lot of medical promise to offer, but unfortunately, they get a bad rap from being abused. The people who may actually need them might hesitate to use them because of all the stuff they have heard through the media.

When you tell a high-school kid that he needs to use steroids for treating delayed puberty, he may panic. After all, aren't steroids the drugs the football player on his team died from using? Aren't steroids the drug that caused a young man his age to have a heart attack? Aren't steroids the drug that an Olympian was kicked off the team for abusing?

There is a great difference between use and abuse. Using it for your medical health and abusing it for your own selfish gain or pleasure are not the same thing. Let's take the abusive power away from those who abuse anabolic steroids. Let's see some publicity about people using medication for their health and being helped by the doctor prescribed and monitored use of anabolic steroids.

Some day, the life of one of your loved ones may depend on anabolic steroids or another medication that is frowned upon. Making a good name for being healthy, staying healthy, and using medication to become healthy will take some work.

Those in the media need to look at all points when they give medication bad publicity. Rather than publicize the problems associated with anabolic steroids, it's time to look at other options.
